Compost Mapping Project
What: Launch of a volunteer-led design + research mapping initiative

Cost: $5 Suggested Donation to Cover Refreshments

Where can I compost? If you are like many of us and live in an apartment without adequate outdoor space, you may have wondered yourself. O2NYC and Greenmap would like to answer this question for the whole city, by contributing to the further development of the amazing Greenmap composting map, which exists in PDF form, as on online interactive tool, and now an iPhone app. Yet since the map was published, there has been a rise in local community garden projects, and grassroots-developed composting systems launched. Help us uncover all of the known existing composting efforts throughout the five boros, and potential locations for new composting projects.
How this will work: Meet at Greenmap on March 29th and sign up for a specific volunteer effort. The actual work will be more like design research, discovery unmapped information for the city that you love. We will create volunteer opportunities that are low commitment, or more involved based on your availability and interest. This is an ideal opportunity for o2members and others who want to do something but want to also learn something new along the way.
