EcoBizNYC Sustainable Business Workshops: Weatherizing Your Business, Thursday

A new program of the Lower East Side Ecology Center, EcoBizNYC's mission is to help small businesses, students, and the general public to actively reduce air pollution, carbon emissions and airborne environmental health hazards in NYC through environmental auditing, education, and action. EcoBizNYC's initiatives will provide small businesses with resources on how to reduce their overall emissions, negative impacts on community health, and to increase their community support, while saving money and increasing their community involvement. Attend this workshop and learn how you can cut your business's costs and save energy. Adding more insulation is the single most cost-effective way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. A typical pound of insulation saves twelve times as much energy in its first year in place as the energy used to produce it. By reducing the energy needed to heat and your building, insulation avoids carbon dioxide emissions, which contribute to global climate change. In this workshop you and your employees will learn about different types of insulation and their benefits. Experts in energy conservation will provide you with easy instructions on how to install key money and energy saving weathering techniques. You will also be provided with a guide on where you can procure insulation devices.
