Call for designers to participate : Cooper-Hewitt Museum Teen Design Fair 2007

The Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institution, is gearing up to host its Teen Design Fair during National Design Week 2007. The event, which will take place on Monday, October 15, 4:00-6:00pm, will introduce over 400 New York City public high school students to the world of design, the museum, and our Design Directions program - a comprehensive series of free design education programs for New York City high school students that include portfolio workshops, studio and museum visits, multi-session after-school workshops and paid internships with professional designers.

We also want to provide the students with the opportunity to talk to prominent designers in small intimate groups where they can ask questions about the endless possibilities of the design field. We want to draw in fun, engaging designers like you, to talk to an enthusiastic and dynamic cadre of teens about the great work you do.

Some of last year’s participating designers include Izaac Mizrahi, Milton Glaser, Kristina Wrenn, Cynthia Rowley, Patrick Robinson, Deborah Adler among many others. If you are interested in participating or in learning more please contact me. Also, please feel free to pass along to any designer who might be interested. We would love for you to be a part of the biggest teen design event of the year!
