TECHNOVATION 2007

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is pleased to announce Technovation 2007, the 3rd International exhibition on Design, Innovation and Emerging Technologies. The only focused show targeting on the Design, Innovation and Emerging Technologies being held concurrently with the 17th International Engineering & Technology Fair (IETF) 2007, organised biennially since 1975. IETF is CII's flagship event and is considered as the most comprehensive business fair in South Asia. Japan the Partner Country at the 17th IETF is expected to display the largest ever- Japanese exposition in India.

India is set to be a global design destination. The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Government of India is expected to announce the National Design Policy shortly. The policy also foresees setting up of specialised design centers. These centers will focus on various sectors including automobile, jewellery, leather, textiles, high-tech digital products, and software companies. It has proposed to set up design incubation centers, with an objective to create significant market value of the domestic design industry at around 1% of the GDP by 2009.
